Doan ngo festival (double five festival)

Doan Ngo Festival (on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month) is one of the important traditional Tets in the circle of one year of the Vietnamese and the Chinese in Tra Vinh province. Traditionally,on the Double Five Day, people often walk in the waterway areas, eat some fruit and drink some wine so as to “exterminate pest” and root out their disease.

Annually, the occasion of the Double Five Day is also the start of the fruit season so Tan Qui Isle welcomes thousands of young men and women from provinces of Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang etc… to come for walking and enjoying early fruits, as well as relaxing and entertaining. They all make the  atmosphere of the festival day extremely exciting and funny.
