Ngo boat racing festival

On the 14th day of the 10th lunar month, on the Long Binh river, a lively Ngo boat racing festival takes place amidst the resounding Five Sound music, the cheers and cheers of tens of thousands of spectators. Racing teams from districts, cities in the province and neighboring provinces bring to the festival a jubilant and passionate atmosphere.

Ngo boat racing is both a folk game, showing strength and solidarity, as well as a traditional ceremony to send off the water god after the planting season to the sea, as well as a religious rite of the Khmer people to remember snakes. The ancient god Nagar once turned into a piece of wood to carry the Buddha across the river.
